Our Key Initiatives
The Hopkins County Sportsmen & Sportswomen Club (HCSSC) is a dedicated nonprofit (501c3) committed to creating lasting impact in our community through educational programs, youth scholarships, and wildlife conservation efforts. Every dollar donated directly supports local projects, outdoor events, and educational initiatives that nurture the love of nature and responsible outdoor practices among all ages.

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Investing in future generations, we’re offering scholarships for youth to attend summer camps that focus on wildlife conservation, fostering both knowledge and passion for preserving Kentucky’s natural resources.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
From our "Take a Kid Fishing" event at Lockmary Lake, where over 200 children received fishing poles, to interactive gun safety and hunting education sessions, we are committed to engaging youth in positive, educational outdoor experiences.

WILDLIFE CONSERVATION EFFORTS
In partnership with local and state organizations, we undertake impactful conservation projects. The Mortons Gap Lake Restoration Project, made possible through grants and community support, included lake restocking,invasive species removal, and amenities like benches and a new fishing dock.Our ongoing work helps preserve local habitats and promotes sustainable outdoor recreation.

FUTURE PUBLIC ARCHERY AND FIREARM RANGE
HCSSC is working with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to establish a public archery and firearm range. This will provide families with safe, accessible spaces for skill-building and responsible recreation.

OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE
As we work to build a 3D archery course in Earlington—completely free to families and intended for future fundraising—our vision remains clear: fostering a unified, educated community that values and actively participates in conservation. With strategic collaborations and grants, we aim to grow HCSSC’s outreach, ensuring that outdoor education and conservation continue to thrive.
